About Jackie

While attending Trinity Christian College to obtain her bachelor’s degree, Jackie began her career in health and fitness in the mid-80s, when she managed a women’s fitness center in Palos Heights, Illinois. Upon graduation, her career aspirations led her to Wisconsin, where she held management positions for organizations including the Beloit YMCA and volunteered as a Board member and Walk Chair for the March of Dimes Madison, WI Chapter, one of the largest in the US.   A career working with schools, hospitals, clinics and nutrition centers followed, where she developed the steps of her highly-successful, Steps to Fitness Total Body Training, with special emphasis on helping the aging population to live better lives. Jackie returned to Illinois and now resides in Saint Charles, IL, where she opened her studio to bring her correctional exercise and nutrition programs to you!

Jackie holds personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and national certification through Yoga Alliance, following completion of a 227-hour program through Total Body Yoga, a nationally-registered and recognized school.  In addition, she has the additional specialized designation of a Certified Senior Strength Trainer (C.S.S.T) from IWA, Inc.   This certification required coursework, live workshop, research case study group participation, specialized applications, white paper, and a final exam. It uniquely qualifies her to train older adults and special populations with age related conditions, including osteoporosis, arthritis,  cardiovascular disease, obesity, depression, auditory and visual concerns and low back pain.  She also has numerous additional continuing education credits for disciplines including Pilates.  Jackie has also completed her the Illinois Activities Directors Course to better serve the aging population with recreational activities and programs that serve areas such as brain development and is a Certified Dementia Care Specialist, which qualified her to work with specialized senior health issues including exercise.

Jackie now also specializes health and wellness programs for special populations including senior citizens, those overcoming disabilities and those with 50 or more pounds to lose. Her years of personal training experience to develop and lead personal training programs for clients returning to fitness from injuries or illness, once their physician has released them to exercise.

Jackie is a sought-after speaker and writer on a variety of health and wellness topics to help the aging population live better lives, including brain health. Her expertise includes how to best support individuals with health and wellness issues.
